Deepika Padukone reveals the sole condition she has for selecting films




She got a dream launch in Bollywood in 2007 with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om during which she had monarch Rukh Khan as her co-star. And from then on, Deepika Padukone has been creating all the correct noises together with her film selections.

With films like Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Housefull (2010), Desi Boyz (2011), Race a pair of (2013), Finding Fanny (2014), Piku (2015), Bajirao Mastani (2015), Padmaavat (2018),her filmography is clearly a mixture of potboilers, slice-of-life films, and historical dramas. She has even marked during a Hollywood film xXx: come of Xander Cage (2017).

Has there been any amendment within the manner she picks a movie now? “No, not at all. i'm selecting my comes an equivalent manner I did ten years agone. i'm following my gut and heart. i'm solely doing films that have the power to push ME on the far side my temperature. once the narration finishes, I even have to feel butterflies in my abdomen otherwise I don’t take up the film. The film needs to enervate ME,” shares Deepika.

But the actor clarifies that this doesn't mean that the films she will need to perpetually be hard-hitting. Even a feel-good sidekick drama are often intriguing enough for her to require it up. “It doesn't need to be a very intense film. Even once I selected a movie like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), I had an equivalent level of pleasure as a result of I had
never contend a personality like Naina before. I even have to feel challenged. I even have perpetually listened thereto voice in my head,” she says.

And Deepika is taking that forward together with her next film, Chaapaak, that sees her play associate acid attack survivor. The Meghna Gulzar-directed project relies on the lifetime of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. With Chaapaak, Deepika is additionally creating her debut as a producer.

“Again, my selections as a producer are like my selections as associate actor. they'll be driven by my inventive juices and not box workplace and business viability. i will be able to tell stories that I feel associate emotional connect with. I’ve perpetually relied thereon and can still do thus,” she says.

So, as a producer would she solely back issue-based films? “I rather let that unfold slowly than expression it. it's perpetually nice if it unfolds before of the audiences as and once it happens,” she replies.
